Day 1
Hometown Beijing
Starting your tour by taking flight to Beijing. Cross the International Date Line. Lose one day on the road.
Day 2
Arrive Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the capital city of China. Your tour guide will greet you at the airport arrival hall and then transfer to your deluxe hotel for a good night’s rest.
Day 3
Beijing (B, L, D)
Beijing served as the capital of 5 dynasties over a period of 800 years. Start your city tour with a visit to the Tiananmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Next stop is the Forbidden City. This complex, the largest and most intact conglomeration of ancient structures of the imperial palace ever built in the world, features more than 800 buildings with 9999 rooms, resplendent golden-glazed roofs, red lacquered pillars and vermilion walls. In the afternoon, continue your tour to the Temple of Heaven, which was used by Emperors to offer sacrifices to heaven and pray for good harvest in ancient times. In the evening, enjoy a fabulous Peking Roast Duck Banquet. Back to hotel for rest or attend an optional energetic show-- “Legend of Kung-fu” at your own expense.
Day 4
Beijing (B, L, D)
This morning, you’ll also have an opportunity to shop at the largest Jade Center of Asia. The highlight today is a trip to the astonishing Great Wall at Juyongguan Pass. More than 12,000 Kilometers in total, the Great Wall is the most famous image of China throughout the world. It is the only manmade object visible from the moon, and as one of the Eight Wonders of the world, it is also a symbol of Chinese traditional culture and the pride of the Chinese nationality. After lunch, see skilled artisans at work at a Cloisonné Factory. Then take motor coach to the Ming Tombs and visit the Changling Exhibition Hall. Back to city, walk along the New Qianmen Street and have a outside view of the beautiful Bird’s Nets and Water Cube up close. After dinner, cap off the day by attending a superb performance of Chinese Acrobatic Show.
Day 5
Beijing (B, L)
In the morning tour to the exquisite Summer Palace (Imperial Garden), the largest ancient preserved garden in China and a former summer resort for Emperors and the chosen few, with a boat ride on Lake Kunming (weather permitting). A shopping visit to a Silk Carpet Shop followed by lunch. You’ll have your afternoon free to explore the city by yourself. You may choose to join our optional Experience the Hutong Life Tour: a special journey exploring the ancient Beijing Alley District by a pedi-cab, plus a visit to a local family and a local market; or just pace yourself in the Wang-fu-jing Business Street, also called Gold Street. With hundreds year of history, it is the best place to capture the historical and modern cultures of Beijing. Today’s dinner will be on your own.
Day 6
Beijing Xian (B, L, D)
Fly to Xi’an in the morning. Xi’an was the first Chinese city opening up its doors to the world during the Tang Dynasty. Over a period of more than 2000 years, Xian was the capital for eleven dynasties. Upon arrival, you will go to visit the Terra Cotta Warriors and Horses Museum, sightseeing the attached life-sized defending army to the first emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang. It is regarded as “the eighth wonder of the world” and among the top archaeological excavations of the 20th century. Visit an Art Ceramics Factory before we enjoy the special local Imperial Dumpling Banquet Dinner and the traditional Tang Dynasty Singing and Dancing Show in the evening.
Day 7
Xian (B, L, D)
Visit the Shanxi Provincial Historical Museum in the morning. Enjoy a local special noodle lunch and watch Noodle Making Performance. After lunch visit the Ancient City Wall which is not only the most complete city wall that has survived in China, but also one of the largest and most complete ancient military defense systems in the world. Then visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, the symbol of the city. It is said to have been built to house and protect Buddhist scriptures collected by the Chinese monk, Xuan Zang, the key figure in 《Journey to the West》.
Day 8
Xian Hangzhou (B, L, D)
Leave Xi’an for Hangzhou by air this morning. Hangzhou is a city with a rich history and culture. Marco Polo described this place as “the most beautiful and magnificent city in the world”. Upon arrival, take the boat cruise on the magnificent West Lake, the symbol of the city. In the afternoon, continue your tour to visit the Yellow Dragon Cave, and taste the well-known Dragon Well Tea at the No.1 tea plantation. Enjoy local cuisine dinner in the evening.
Day 9
Hangzhou Wuzhen Town Wuxi (B, L, D)
This morning, take motor coach to Wuzhen Town, a quiet water town with 1300 years history. When more and more well known small water towns in south of Yangtze River, such as Zhou-zhuang Village, have become modern and commercialized, Wuzhen Town is one of the few that still retain their quiet and nature characters of typical Chinese water towns. That is why we take you here. Take a paddle-wood-boat ride across the small water town to feel its serenity, peacefulness, and subtle beauty. In the afternoon take motor coach to Wuxi, a unique water village and a pearl situated in the center of China’s Yangtze Delta. Wuxi is famous for its landscapes which there are truly something to marvel at.
Day 10
Wuxi Suzhou (B, L, D)
After breakfast, visit to the beautiful Turtle Head Peninsular Park, where you can enjoy the beauty of the Lake Tai, the largest fresh water lake in China. Then visit the Liyuan Garden. Liyuan Garden, with its pavilions, corridors, and causeways at the lake side, is exquisitely designed and harmonious in color. Proceed to Suzhou after visiting the Freshwater Pearls Farm. Suzhou has been praised as the “Paradise on the Earth” since ancient times and is an extraordinarily delicate and elegant city. Know as “Venice of the East”, Suzhou is built around the Grand Canal. Because of its many excellent classical gardens, Suzhou has been entitled the “Garden City”. Our sightseeing includes the Tiger Hill and Garden of the Master of the nets. Enjoy the famous Silk Fashion Show.
Day 11
Suzhou | Shanghai (B, L, D)
After breakfast, proceed to Shanghai, the modern metropolis and commercial center of China. Upon arrival, start your memorable tour of Shanghai by walking along the famous Bund, a mile-long stretch along the Huangpu River. Lined by the colonial architectures of European design, this area is the best place to capture the western influences of the old days. Continue to visit the Ming Dynasty Yuyuan Garden which is considered to be one of four greatest Chinese gardens. Our final stop will be the bustling shopping district, Nanjing Road. Continue visit the Shanghai Museum to see the ancient Chinese art, furniture and jade. After ample time admiring the numerous exhibits, you’ll be given an opportunity to shop for the highest quality Silk Goods. After dinner you may take optional tour, the Night Cruise on the Huangpu River at your own expense.
Day 12
Shanghai Hometown (B)
Your China journey is over all too soon as we transfer to the airport and board the homebound international flight, bidding a fond farewell to this ancient land. We know the trip is over, yet the experiences and memories will certainly last for a life time. You’ll get home the same day you leave China. Or you may extend your stay.
