Liu
Bu--A Historical Site
Nestled in the green, thickly wooded hills south of Jinan is a historical
site now famous throughout the country. It is called Liu Bu, meaning
"Willow Port". Here streams and fountains bubble and fruit
trees blossom all over the hillside. Pavilions, towers and monasteries
once dotted the landscape. Though many of these have been lost to
time, a number of notable works still remain, among which are the
Four-Door tower, Thousand-Buddha Pagoda, Dragon-Tiger Tower, Nine-Spire
Pagoda and a "pagoda" cemetery. Liu Bu is about 32 kilometers
from Jinan. |
