Situated in old downtown Hohhot, Xilituzhao was built in 1585 specially for the Third Dalai Lama. It is a complex in both Han and Tibetan styles. The gate is painted in red, the walls are laid with glazed bricks, and the roofs are painted in gold. A 15-meter-tall white marble Buddhist pagoda stands in Xilituzhao, the largest lama pagoda in Inner Mongolia.
