| Known as Emperor Taizu of the Yuan Dynasty
and also named Temujin, Genghis Khan (1162-1227) is a leader of the
Mongol tribe, as well as a stragetist and a statesman.
The
tomb of Genghis Khan is located 30 kilometers from Ih Ju League, consisting
of walls, a square, and the tomb, with a total area of 50,000 square
meters. The top of the hall in the tomb is shaped round, and the roofs
are painted in gold, and laid with blue glazed tiles.
The joss sticks and candles in the halls of the tomb burn all year
round. Every year, four grand sacrificial ceremonies are held here to
commemorate Genghis Khan, a hero of the Mongolian people. |
