| Nadam
Meaning entertainment or games, Nadam, held in between July and August,
is the grandest traditional festival of the Mongolian herdsmen, which
mainly include wrestling, horse race, and archery, in addition to other
activities, such as polo, horsemanship, track and field, singing and
dancing, trade talks, and awarding ceremonies.
Costume
Women wear agate, pearl, coral, jadeite, gem, gold, silver, and jade.
Men
wear calpac and loose, long-sleeved, choker robe buttoned on the right
or left fastened with a belt; While young women also dress in robes,
fastened with red or green belt.
Sacrifice to Mountain God
A hill laid with stones is regarded as the Mountain God. Every mid-May,
the herdsmen workship and pray for the God.
